Music Theory is a study of the way the musical language is put together. Basic theory is a normal component of beginner's piano lessons, but there comes a time when students may need to study theory to accomplish further goals such as taking Royal Conservatory of Music exams or learning how to compose music.
Theory courses are taught as private lessons. Classes may be available with a minimum of two students who will commit to attend weekly classes and successfully complete assignments. Private tutoring is also available.

- All levels of Music Rudiments - learning how to notate pitch, rhythm, scales, intervals, triads, transposition, etc.
- All levels of Harmony - harmonizing (put chords to) music within a key, writing melodies, analyzing music modulation to other keys, and using enriched harmonies.
- Keyboard Harmony - learning how to create effective harmonies by ear.
- Music History - gaining a broad overview of the main music styles and important composers of music history from Medieval to Modern eras.
